Dear Licence holder

NOTICE: VAT RATE CHANGE

The Minister of Finance announced the value-added tax (VAT) rate increase in the budget speech on 21 February 2018. The standard rate of VAT will change from 14% to 15% with effect from 1 April 2018.

This means there will be VAT changes in your TV Licence fees. TV Licence fees are according to legislation inclusive of VAT. Invoices that are issued for payment of licence fees in April 2018 or thereafter will be issued with a VAT rate of 15%.

Please note: the annual TV Licence tariff remains unchanged at R265.00

Yours sincerely

Sylvia Tladi
